Sarasota Memorial welcomed a new pain medicine specialist – Courtney Simmons-Rasmussen, MD – to its interdisciplinary pain care team last month.
Board certified in Anesthesiology/Critical Care, Dr. Simmons-Rasmussen completed her medical degree at Howard University in Washington, DC, internship at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and pain management fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
She joined the First Physicians Group practice of Eugene Pereira, MD, and Lindsay Shroyer, MD, on Oct. 26. The group practices at Sarasota Memorial’s four Pain Medicine Program locations in Sarasota, Osprey and Bradenton.
The interdisciplinary team of pain management specialists offers customized rehabilitation, treatment, medications and interventional procedures to people suffering from a range of painful conditions, including arthritis, back/neck pain, cancer pain, muscle pain, sciatica, neuromuscular and spinal cord pain, diabetic neuropathy, facial pain, shingles, fibromyalgia, headaches/migraines, as well as work-related injuries.
