Sarasota Memorial Health Care System welcomed two new physicians to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network and community to kick off the new year.
Kristen Rahn, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician, is now accepting new patients at FPG’s Family Practice at Rand Boulevard. Together with family medicine specialists Emiliana Cruz-Hillis, MD, Albert Novak, DO, and Kristen Paulus, MD, they provide comprehensive primary care for families and individuals of all ages. Angela Marshall, MD, FACOG, a board-certified OB/GYN physician, is now accepting new patients at the new FPG Obstetrics & Gynecology office at Rand Boulevard. She provides a full spectrum of women’s gynecological and obstetrical care.
Both physicians were recruited to the area by Sarasota Memorial to help fill the healthcare gaps caused by a shortage of physicians in the region.
Prior to joining First Physicians Group, Dr. Rahn served the last five years as the medical director for several Wisconsin-based organizations, overseeing quality care, occupational and employee wellness, telehealth and other community programs. She has worked as a family physician in the Aspirus Health System since 2001in the Kronenwetter and Weston, Wis. clinics. Dr. Rahn earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1998 and completed her residency in 2001 in Wausau, Wis., serving as chief resident in her final year. She also makes time for community service, and has served as a mission trip leader and a volunteer with numerous local children’s organizations. Dr. Marshall began her career as an OB/GYN with Southwest Florida Women’s Group in Naples, Fla., where she worked from 2004 to 2009, before moving to Anderson, Ind., where she spent the next 10 years practicing at Community Physicians Network. She served as the OB/GYN department chair at Community Hospital Anderson in 2012 and 2013. Dr. Marshall earned her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Ill., in 2000. She completed her residency at Northeastern Ohio University in Canton in 2004. She has been a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 2007.
