SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming two new obstetrics and gynecology physicians to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network and community this month.

Christina Carter, MD, and Ashworth Skibicki, MD, both board-eligible obstetrics and gynecology physicians, are now accepting new patients at two FPG practices, the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Clark Road and the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Lorraine Corners. Both physicians will be treating patients from adolescence to adulthood and providing comprehensive obstetrics and gynecological care.
Prior to joining Sarasota Memorial, Dr. Carter worked for the last year as an OB/GYN with The Woman’s Group in Riverview, Fla. She specializes in high-risk obstetrics and gynecology, and has experience in laparoscopy. Dr. Carter is establishing her new practice in Sarasota after earning her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill in 2015, and completing her residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 2019.
Dr. Skibicki comes to Sarasota Memorial after earning her medical degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee in 2016, and completing her residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 2020. Dr. Skibicki specializes in high-risk obstetrics and gynecology. She has participated in multiple medical outreach programs, providing care to underserved communities domestically and abroad.
Drs. Carter and Skibicki bring expertise in a wide range of obstetrical concerns, including contraception, infertility, sexual dysfunction and hysterectomy or tubal ligation procedures, as well as preventative care, such as pelvic exams, pap smears and biopsies.
Both Dr. Carter and Dr. Skibicki are accepting patients at two locations: The Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Clark Road (located at 5880 Rand Blvd.) and the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Lorraine Corners (located at 14405 Arbor Green Trail in Lakewood Ranch).
