First Physicians Group of Sarasota is

Hospital Overview
Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH), an 885-bed
regional medical center, is the second largest public hospital in Florida. With
over 3,500 full-time staff members, SMH is Sarasota County's second largest
employer. It is a full-service facility providing acute care, a Level III
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, outpatient services, home health and long-term
care. Over 75 years old, the hospital is among the top 25 in the United States
for the number of open-heart surgeries performed annually. SMH is one of only
2.5 percent of all public hospitals to receive accreditation with commendation
from the Joint Commission on Healthcare Accreditation.
